JTET Recruitment 2026 : Eligibility Criteria

Level-I (Primary)  | Class 1 to 5

. 12th Pass with 50% Marks and 2 Year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.ED)  (Session on / After 09/12/2007)

. 12th Pass with 45% Marks and 2 Year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.ED)  (NCTE Norms 2002, Session Before 09/12/2007)

. 12th Pass with 50% Marks and 4 Year Bachelor of Elementary Education (D.El.ED) 

. 12th Pass with 50% Marks and 2 Year Diploma in Special Education.

. Bachelor Degree and 2 Year Diploma in Elementary Education.

Level-I (Primary)  | Class 6 to 8

. Bachelor Degree and 2 Year Diploma in Elementary Education.

. Graduation / PG with at least 50% Marks + BEd (Enrolled After 29/07/2011)

. Graduation with 45% Marks + B.Ed (NCTE Norms, Enrolled Before 29/07/2011)

. 12th Pass with 50% Marks and 4 Year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.ED) 

. 12th Pass with 50% Marks and 4 Year B.A / B.Sc.Ed. or B.A.ED / B.Sc.ED

. Graduation with 50% Marks and B.Ed (Special Education)

. Post Graduation with 55% Marks and 3 Year Integrated B.Ed – M.Ed Course.

. Offline Written Exam (OMR Based)

. Qualifying Marks : Gen / EWS : 60% , BC-I / BC-II : 55% , SC / ST / PVTG / PWD : 52%

How to Fill Online Form

. Step 1 : Check if You Are Eligible: Before you apply make sure you have the education. You need to have finished grade or graduation and also have a D.El.Ed or B.Ed degree.

. Step 2 : Check Your Age: You must be least 21 years old on August 1st of the year you are taking the exam.

. Step 3 : If You Are in Your Final Year: If you are almost done with your teacher training (B.Ed or D.El.Ed) you can still apply. Just make sure you have your final grades ready by the date the exam people say.

. Step 4 : Choose Your Exam Level: Decide if you want to take the exam for Level 1 (teaching classes 1-5) Level 2 (teaching classes 6-8) or both.

. Step 5 : Pick Your Subjects and Languages:

* You need to pick two languages for Language-I.

* For Language-II pick one language from the list that’s okay for your district (look at Schedule-1).

* If you are taking Level 2 pick your subject. You can choose Math and Science Social Science or Language.

. Step 6 : Apply Online: When the advertisement comes out apply on the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) website or the website that the state says to use.

. Step 7 : Pay the Exam Fee: Pay the fee that the state government says you need to pay. The fee is different, for groups of people.

. Step 8 : Submit Your Form. Keep a Copy: Finish applying and print out your application form. You will need it when they check your documents.
